Robert was born on June 7, 1930 in Los Angeles, California. He was the third of Juanita and Patricio Rubalcava’s ten children.
In 1947, at the age of seventeen, Robert enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served until he was Honorably Discharged in 1949.
In his nearly ninety years, Robert had so many interests, hobbies, and habits develop, take hold, and fade away over time, that they are too plentiful to remember, let alone list here. However, despite the challenges and tribulations that come into one’s life, as a man of faith, Robert's love, loyalty, and pride in his families was and remains eternal. Robert will be reunited in Heaven with his cherished son Manuel; siblings Tony, Angie, Barbaro, Patrick, Isaac, Irene, and Gloria; and his parents.
Robert will be ruefully missed, yet genially celebrated, by those he leaves here on earth: Elodia, his beloved wife of forty-five years; his siblings Raúl and Josie; his children Robert, Víctor, Ralph, Thomas, Cecilia, Theresa, Rosalina; his other children Joe, Alex, Linda, Adiel, and Yazmin; and his many, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, and all of his plentiful friends and neighbors.
