It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Monserrate Rodriguez, a beloved father, music lover, and cherished friend. Monserrate left us peacefully, surrounded by the warmth of family and the melodies he adored.
Monserrate aka Junior, was born in Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico, to Juan and Cruz Maria. He is survived by his loving wife, Susana, with whom he shared 57 years of faithful marriage. Together, they raised four wonderful children: Nereida, Elizabeth, Noel, and Kat. His legacy continues through his eight grandchildren—Cheyenne, Elias, Faith, Isaiah , Tianna, Armani, Jerek, and Gianna—and one great-grandson, Rodney. Additionally, he held a special place in his heart for his son-in-laws Luis and Sean and his daughter-in-law, Maria.
Born with a natural gift for humor, Monserrate was known for his silly noises that could light up any room. His playful bird calls would turn heads and spark laughter, leaving everyone wondering, "What was that?" His zest for life was contagious, and he had a unique ability to bring joy to those around him.
An avid salsa dancer, Junior found his rhythm in the vibrant beats of Latin music. Music was not just a passion; it was his love language. He could often be found with his phone, sharing his favorite tunes, creating moments filled with laughter and connection. He embraced every opportunity to dance, infusing his life with the joy of movement and music.
Monserrate was also a dedicated sports fan, with a special love for the New York Yankees and the Giants. He played baseball during his younger years, and those cherished memories of playing the game remained close to his heart. His love of boxing was equally profound, and he enjoyed sharing that passion with his family. He delighted in taking his children to car races, creating unforgettable family moments.
Above all, Monserrate loved his family. He was a devoted father who cherished every meal shared and every moment spent together. His love for food was matched only by his love for those who gathered around the table with him.
Monserrate “Junior” Rodriguez will be remembered not just for the laughter he brought into our lives but for the love he shared and the memories he created. His spirit will forever resonate in the music that fills the air, in the laughter that echoes through our hearts, and in the love that binds our family together.
Rest in peace, beloved Junior, loving father, amazing grandpa, tio, and friend. You will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
Descansa en paz, Dios te bendiga.
