Laura A. Carrera ~ Manning

Laura Asucena Carrera-Manning, age 43, passed away surrounded by loved ones on June 15, 2023, at Kaiser in Fontana, CA. She was born in Sinaloa, Mexico on December 21, 1978. She was loved and cared for by the Hoch family. In 1994, she met her forever family; parents, Uriel and Rosa Carrera and siblings, Bertha, Araceli, Rocio, Uriel, Susana, Jessenia and Ricky. She loved her brothers John and Alexis whom she embraced along with her new family. She was a 1998 graduate from Ganesha High School.  In October 2016, she married Teresita Manning and with her kind and loving heart  blended their families. She went on to receive her Associates Degree in early childhood education and was working on a Bachelor’s Degree. With the help of her dear friend April Brucks, she  accomplished her dream of owning a daycare and loved every  one of her kiddos dearly. 

Laura was a devoted mother and loving to all who crossed her path. She was a warrior,  one who never gave up and worked hard until the end. She loved watching her kids play sports, going to concerts, and spending time with family. She will be deeply missed by all her family, friends and those who knew her. 

Laura is survived by her parents, Uriel and Rosa Carrera; wife Teresita Manning; children, Alekxa and Aaron; step-children, Cedric, Mariesa and Jordan; siblings, Bertha, Araceli, Rocio, Uriel, John, Susana, Jessenia, Ricardo and Alexis; and many loving uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews and friends. She is predeceased by her grandparents, Jose, Carmen, Miguel and Antonia; her nephews Devin and Kristopher. 

Rosary and viewing will be on March 30, 2023 from 4-8pm at Preston & Simons Mortuary, 3358 Mission Inn Ave. Riverside, Ca 92501. The Holy Mass will be held at her home church, Sacred Heart (1215 S. Hamilton Blvd. Pomona, Ca 91766) on July 7, 2023 @ 10:00am.
