Jose De Jesus Cortez Garfias

October 2, 2019 sadly marks the day where our 12 year old son Jose Cortez Garfias passed away. He was born with spina bífida, and he was paralyzed from the waist down. He had to learn to navigate the world using his wheelchair. He never let any obstacle stop him from achieving his goals. He always had a huge smile on his face and a positive attitude towards anything he did. Something he was very passionate about was his schoolwork and academics. He always strived for the best, and planned to one day become a police officer. He had a great deal of respect for our local fire and police department. He was always a very determined kid who loved and cared about everyone around him.
