Denise Avis Woosley, born on February 15, 1956, in Ogdensburg, NY was sent to her eternal home in heaven on October 1, 2025, in Fontana, California, due to metabolic acidosis following a heart attack. She was the beloved daughter of Gilbert and Kathleen LaBarge.
Denise is survived by her loving siblings, her sister Carol, brother Gilbert, sister Donna, sister Sandee, sister Vicki, sister Barbara, and brother Richard. Denise also left behind her husband of 51 years, Lanny Sr., their three sons, Lanny Jr., Eric, and Patrick, and four grandchildren Joshua, Bentley, Haleigh, and Jade (due in March 2026), who adored her dearly. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
She was affectionately known, was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her journey on this earth was one marked by love, compassion, and unwavering faith in God. Her passing has left a void in the hearts of her family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by her. We ask that you remember her not for the way her life ended, but for the way it was lived, and for the profound impact it had on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing her.
As a devout Christian, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, Cousin, and Friend, Denise read and sent out daily devotions, enjoyed family time, cooking and baking, shopping, playing scratchers and even the occasional mega million. Every night Denise watched the news before bed. Those who knew Denise will remember her for her infectious smile and laughter, her deep-rooted faith in Jesus, and her commitment to spreading love and kindness to everyone she encountered.
Her legacy will carry on forever reminding us that we control our own attitudes. We choose to live a life of meaningful acts of love and service, like Jesus Christ modeled for us.
