Guadalupe L. Garcia, age 72, passed away on March 13, 2018 after his battle with Dementia.
Guadalupe also known as "Patch" to all who knew him, was born and raised in Brawley, CA. He was the son of Florencio and Adelaida Garcia. He is survived by his wife Olga with 49 years of marriage, Two daughters: Irma Hisel, Denise Garcia. He also leaves behind two grandchildren, Edward Michael Hisel and Belle Mariah Guzman. He is survived by his brothers and sisters Richard Garcia, Paul Garcia, Martha Cordero, Dolores Cazares. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He was Preceded in death by his brothers and sisters Florencio Jr., Raymond Garcia, Felipe Garcia, Arturo Garcia, Antonio Garcia, Jose Garcia, Ambrosio Garcia, Danny Garcia, Paula Garcia, Virginia Contreras, and Petra Gomez.
Guadalupe was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, where he was 11D Armor Reconnaissance Specialist 4 /Corporal, earned several medals, including the Purple Heart, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with Bronze Service Star, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Expert Badge with Rifle Bar, Sharpshooter Badge with Pistol Bar. He was wounded in battle, and received other commendations for his dedication and bravery. The discipline and patriotism he learned in the Army never left him, as his friends and family will attest. He took so much Pride and Joy in his family and enjoyed living life to the fullest. He passed on many of his amazing traits to his children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
