About Us

My name is Jesus Miguel Ruiz "Jesse", I have over 25 years of experience within this wonderful profession as Licensed Embalmer 8473 and Licensed Funeral Director 2093, within the state of California. I'm a proud Marine Desert Storm Veteran and received my Bachelors of Science Degree from Azusa Pacific University.

Looking back at my work history, I have worked for "family owned", medium range and large corporate funeral homes who practically own every funeral home and cemetery in town.  The one thing that stood out and why I'm no longer working for them, was their lack of giving families options. With this in mind I took the courage to open Personal Funeral Planning, in order to help and assist families, to have quality services at very reasonable prices and who are looking for a more personal touch.

Another part of my work history is that I had the pleasure, privilege and honor to not only work with very high profile families, but their love ones. I embalmed "The King of Pop" Michael Jackson Actress Britney Murphy, The Price is Right and The People's Court Prodcuder Ralph Edwards, Ozzy Osbourne's Replacement in Black Sabbath Ronnie Dio, Celia Cruz's Husband Pedro Caballero Knight, Stefanie Power's Mom Julianna Dimitria, I personally took care of George Lopez's grandmother Benita Gutierrez, Comedian Richard Pryor, Lloyd Thaxton from the Lloyd Thaxton Show, Travis Barker's Best friend Chris Baker, Johnny Carson's Sidekick on the Tonight Show and fellow Marine Ed McMahon.   

 I mention the celebrities and their families above not to show-off, but to prove to you that I have the skills, knowledge and experience to ensure that together we can celebrate your loved one's life with a meaningful and personal service. I assure you that I will take care of your loved one with the utmost care and respect, as my own family member.
